The Lac Chambon is only a 10 minute walk from the campsite by the new Voie Verte.
You are at the entrance to the Chaudefour Valley which will lead you to the maison de las Réserve and the Puy de Sancy.

Hiking in Auvergne
In Murol (at 3 km), there is a beautiful medieval castle on a hill overlooking the village.
Visit the castle with performers who will make you travel back in time to the Middle Ages.

Exhibition of paintings made by 40 artists during the first half of the 20th century in Murol region ( impressionism and fauvism)
The Mysteries of Farges
In Saint Nectaire ( at 8 km), you can visit the Bellonte Farm where they make the Saint Nectaire cheese and the troglodyte dwellings

Jonas troglodyte site
In Saint Pierre Colamine (15 km). Long tuff cliff carved with 70 troglodytes rooms dating from the Middle Ages.

Walking around lake Chambon : (1h30 return)
From the campsite, turn right after the bridge and follow the path that leads to the lake, you can walk around it through the woods and the footbridges.

A nice hike above the lake Chambon to discover the legend of the place
Glacial valley located above Chambon, a walk for all ages in a magnificent natural setting.
At 15 km from the campsite, between Besse and SuperBesse, a meromictic crater lake with dark blue waters
Ascent to Puy de Sancy
By the Mont-Dore cable car: the highest point of the Massif Central (1886m above the sea level)

15 km from the campsite, at the entrance of Le Mont Dore, in a place called Le Queureuilh, there are 3 big waterfalls.
Guéry lake : (20km)
The highest lake in Auvergne. A 4 hour loop circuit to discover the magnificent landscapes of the Chaîne des Puys.
The Banne d'Ordanche
At Murat le Quaire (above La Bourboule). An easy walk to a volcanic peak.
The puy de la Vache
After visiting “la maison du parc”, a panoramic view of the volcanoes chain.
The Puy de Dôme
To the west of Clermont Ferrand, towards the Col de Ceyssat. Ascent with the cogwheel train: Le Panoramique des Dömes.
The Gergovie plateau
South of Clermont Ferrand, at La Roche Blanche. Back in time to the Gauls.

West of Clermont Ferrand. The volcano that most looks like a volcano!
